GAME VIEWING This 247 km park in the Lundazi district ranges in altitude from 500 to 710 m above sea level. Much of it is made up of the flood plain of the Luangwa River, which forms the western boundary. Although mopane woodland is the dominant vegetation type, there are also species in Luambe National Park include buffalo, elephant, hippopotamus, impala, roan, eland, bushpig and lion. The climate is hot, especially in September and October. Location: Eastern Zambia; north-east of Lusaka. Access: From Lusaka take the main road eastwards to Chipata; from Chipata drive to Mfuwe via Masumba, and then take toe road to Chama; Luambe National Park is approximately 80 km from Mfuwe, along this road. Apart form the Mfuwe/Chama road which runs through the park, there is no internal road network. Accommodation: None. Other facilities: None.
